Cultural Changes and Small Prices

I don’t know about you, but I find it interesting to observe the subject matter of incoming spam notices. A year ago it was about drugs to make you-know-what’s longer (I always wondered where my you-know-what was located because they seemed so insistent that I had one and that I would be quite pleased with the results of taking their drug!). Today it seems to be about pain control via heavy-duty, Federally-controlled drugs such as Percocet and Vicodin.

This seems to be just more of the same reliance our culture seems to have on external aids and quick fixes, especially when it comes to pain. But what I like to say is ‘no pain, no gain.’

When it comes to figure shaping on a permanent basis, I might not promote pain,  but I like to say that if you are training properly, on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being excruciatingly painful, you should most likely,  be at a 6 or 7 on most days you are corseting.

The reason? It’ s not that I promote suffering and corsets. I do promote challenging ourselves to a certain extent. That makes results so much  more pleasurable if we have paid a small price to get there. Should you ever be training and in pain? Most likley not, but remember, everyone’s threshold for pain differs. What might be painful to you may be a piece of cake to me. A lot of my physical response to corseting depends on the time of month, how recently I’ve been lacing down snugly, how often I’ve worn corsets, and the particular style. Some corsets such as the straight rib corsets, I find much more challenging to wear, even uncomfortable to lace tightly, compared to an hourglass or a wasp style.

It’s important when ordering a corset or starting to waist train that you know your own body and its responses fairly well, know the corset you will use and how challenging that style may be, and know some of the physical reactions and results you may expect over time. The more you are prepared with information, the easier your journey will be to achieve permanent body modification, and the smaller the price will be that you pay for those happy and drug-free results!
